Liz is an active member of the Canadian film community. A member of the Directors Guild of Canada since 2015 with the Ontario Chapter, and since 2021 with the BC Chapter. As a member of DOC (Documentary Organization of Canada) since 2007, Liz was an elected board member for three terms (2011-2017) of the Toronto chapter which formed the DOC Institute – the collective voice for Ontario's indie documentary community. Liz was a board member of Cinema Politica (2022-2025,) and is a founding member of the Canadian chapter of Film Fatales, a global community of experienced women and gender diverse feature film and television directors.
